Mark, his bride Sarah and the wedding guests smile for the photographer

A BRIDE and groom refused to let a flooded lawn put a dampner on their big day. Rather than retreat inside for her wedding photographs Sarah put on a pair of wellies, hitched up her long white gown and waded through the 18-inch deep floodwater with her new husband Mark.
She then stood on a bench so she could lower her dress while Mark, 34, stood in the water for their wedding photos at the Hotel Felix in Cambridge.
Their best man, James Buckley, removed his shoes and socks and rolled up his trousers to join the couple, their bridesmaids and relatives.
Mark and Sarah from north London, had been due to marry in the hotel grounds last Saturday.
After days of wet weather they were “resigned” to the ceremony having to move indoors, said Mark. “However, we still wanted pictures outside so told everyone to bring wellington boots and umbrellas,” he added.
Sarah, 29, said: “Some guests thought there was a lovely lake in the garden. When they saw tables and chairs poking out they realised that was where we were supposed to have the wedding.” But she added: “The flooding made the occasion. We couldn’t have imagined anything better.”
